村山知義の宇宙 すべての僕が沸騰する

絵本作家だったトムこと村山知義がベルリンから最先端のアートを吸収して帰国して、アナキズム、マルクス主義、未来主義、表現主義、ダダイズム、構成主義の影響を受けて自説の「意識構成主義」を唱え、日本の前衛芸術シーンを牽引し、先鋭なアーティストグループのMAVOを組織する。彼の活動は、美術にとどまらず、演劇、パフォーマンス、デザイン、脚本や小説の執筆など、ととまることを知らなかった。
この図録は、彼の多くの活動を一覧し、また同時代の他のアーティストの作品も掲載してあって、同時期のアートシーンの様子もわかる。またデザインの観点からすると、ポスターやイラストなどのグラフィックデザイン、建築、ファッションなどにも及んでいる村山の表現世界の広さを見ることができる。

Tomoyoshi Murayama a.k.a. Tom, a former picture book artist, returned to Japan after absorbing cutting-edge art from Berlin, and influenced by anarchism, Marxism, futurism, expressionism, Dadaism, and constructivism, advocated his own theory of "consciousness constructivism," and organized MAVO, a radical artists group that led the avant-garde art scene in Japan. His activities were not limited to fine art, but included theater, performance, design, and writing screenplays and novels.
This catalogue lists many of his activities and also includes works by other artists of the same period, giving us an overview of the art scene of the time. From a design perspective, one can see the breadth of Murayama's world of expression, which extended to posters, illustrations, and other graphic design, architecture, fashion, and more.
