ハイ・イメージ論

吉本隆明の1989年に出版されたこの書籍は、彼が当時、新たに登場してきたテクノロジー、文化や、それにまつわる概念などを語るもの。都市、コンピュータ・グラフィックス、ファッション、音楽、文学など、さまざまな事柄ついて論じている。その頃は、彼のミーハーな関心の持ち方と受け止められたかもしれないが、振り返って読んでみると克明な考察になっていたりする。
テクノロジーの進化にまた一段加速している現在でも、彼の物事への対峙の仕方を参考にすべきものがあるのではないだろうか。

Published in 1989, this book by Takaaki Yoshimoto discusses the emerging technologies, cultures, and concepts of his time. He discusses cities, computer graphics, fashion, music, literature, and much more. At the time, it may have been perceived as his neophilia, but in retrospect, it is an insightful discussion.
Even today, when technology is advancing at a faster pace, we may still find something to refer to in his way of confronting things.
