Joseph Beuys

西武美術館での日本初のヨーゼフ・ボイス展（1984年）の図録。1944年から84年までのドローイングや、オブジェなどの多岐にわたる作品群、そしてパフォーマンスをはじめとした活動を時代を追って幅広くカバーしている。
ボイスによるエッセイや、フルクサス時代からの盟友ナム・ジュン・パイクによる回想録『ボイス－雑草・雑想』も掲載されている。
紹介作品点数131点あって、日本で出ているボイスの資料としても貴重なもの。

This catalogue of the first exhibition of Joseph Beuys in Japan at the Seibu Museum of Art (1984) covers a wide range of Beuys' activities from 1944 to 1984, including drawings, objects and other diverse works, and performances over the years.
It also includes an essay by Beuys and a memoir by Nam June Paik, a close friend of Beuys from their Fluxus days, titled "Beuys: Weeds and Thoughts."
With 131 works introduced, this is a valuable source of information on Beuys in Japan.
