Kinetic art is artwork that moves or appears to move. This art is moved by nature, such as wind, or by machines, such as motors. In the physical sense, works of art that actually "move" can be powered by natural forces (wind, water currents, etc.), electric power, magnetic forces, or human power. Sometimes, works of art require the viewer to move them. Some works reproduce movements calculated by the artist, while others, such as mobiles that apply natural wind power, incorporate accidental movements that cannot be calculated. This book introduces 14 artists' works. Although based on the idea of "movement," the works have a rather conceptual content.
