1989年にニューヨークのGrace Borenicht Galleryで開催された"TECHNO-METAPHISICS"展のカタログ。
参加アーティストは：関口隆史、桑山忠明、篠原有司男、黒川弘毅、三上晴子

記事の冒頭ではこう語られている：「日本のアーティストよりも、日本のアートコレクターに注目が集まっているのは、現在のアート界の市場主義的なマインドを、少なからず物語っているように思える。この状況は、5人のアーティストの作品を通して、日本の現代アートの活気ある状況を魅力的に見せてくれたこの展覧会によって、一時的に正された」
この時期、まだ日本の現代アートへの関心は少ない（草間彌生はニューヨークから東京に戻っていたし、村上隆も、奈良美智もまだ活動を始めたぐらいだ。）一方で、日本はバブル経済で、海外のアート作品を購入していたし、日本の企業経営者がアメリカの美術館の理事にもなっていた。
しかし展覧会のタイトルである"TECHNO-METAPHISICS"は、テクノ文化の震源地である日本らしさを表している。そしてこのタイトルは、やはり三上晴子の作品のためにあったかもしれない。

It says "It seems a not-so-subtle indictment of the current market-oriented mind-set of the art world how much more attention is paid to Japanese art collectors than to Japanese artists. This situation was temporarily redressed by this show, which offered a fascinating look at the lively state of Japanese contemporary art through the work of five artists."
At this time, there was still little interest in Japanese contemporary art (Yayoi Kusama had returned to Tokyo from New York, Takashi Murakami and Yoshitomo Nara had only just begun their activities). On the other hand, Japan was in the midst of a bubble economy, buying artworks from abroad, and Japanese corporate executives were also on the boards of American art museums.
However, the title of the exhibition, "TECHNO-METAPHISICS," expresses Japan's unique position as the epicenter of techno culture. And this title was also intended for Seiko Mikami's work.
