やなぎみわ　―　マイ・グランドマザーズ Miwa Yanagi - My Grandmothers

やなぎみわは、1990年代半ばから、デパートのエレベーターガールや案内嬢など出口のない閉鎖的空間に閉じこめられた女性の日常を、CGを用いた巨大な写真作品で表現し注目を集める。
2009年のヴェネツィア・ビエンナーレ日本代表に選出され、世界的に活躍する。
東京都写真美術館と国立国際美術館で開催される展覧会公式カタログである本書では、若い女性が自らの半世紀後の姿を特殊メイクやCGを用いて演じた〈マイ・グランドマザーズ〉に焦点を当てるとともに、〈エレベーター・ガール〉や〈フェアリー・テール〉など、全72点を掲載。

Since the mid-1990s, Miwa Yanagi has drawn attention with her large-scale photographic works using CG, depicting the daily lives of women confined to closed spaces with no exit, such as department store elevator girls and hostesses.
Selected as Japan's representative for the 2009 Venice Biennale, she is active internationally.
This official exhibition catalog, published for shows at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum and the National Museum of Art, Osaka, focuses on the series My Grandmothers, where young women portrayed their own selves half a century later using special makeup and CG. It also features 72 works in total, including Elevator Girl and Fairy Tale.
