Lafcadio Hearn, a.k.a. Koizumi Yakumo, well known for his “Kwaidan( ghost stories)
," spent ten years in New Orleans from 1877 before coming to Japan.
He was strongly attracted to the unique "Creole" culture, a mixture of American, French, and Western cultures, and he used his ethnologist's spirit to fieldwork a vast number of recipes for this book.
The 400 exotic menus are presented in a witty, humorous, and masterful style.
The book is full of humor and is written with a great sense of humor. The book is illustrated with many pictures by Hearn himself.
