A Forest of Signs documents a major exhibition of important art from the past decade. It includes issues of allegory, appropriation, commodification, the role of the artist, and the function of authorship and originality in assigning meaning to art. We see the work of 30 artists who challenged the ways we see art, the ways we talk about art, the places we look at art, and the ways we buy art.
