First published in 1974, "Leaving the 20th Century" is the first collection of English-language writings by a Situationist. The editor, Chris Gray, was himself a member of The Situationist International. Long out of print, it was republished in 1998. The new edition retains the provocative, free and easy translation of the original, but also includes cut-and-paste graphics, poster art, and cartoons. The 21st century is approaching its quarter-century mark, and 20th-century-style confusion is reemerging in unexpected ways. How should we frame this era? Is it possible to re-conceive the revolution?
