Robert Wilson's Vision (Book and Disk)

"Robert Wilson’s Vision" was exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Houston, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in 1991. The exhibition is a collection of drawings, stage sets, and sculptures Wilson created for his famous avant-garde theatrical productions. A visionary director, playwright, and visual artist, Wilson became widely known for his groundbreaking opera Einstein on the Beach (premiered 1976), a collaboration with composer Philip Glass. Drawing from a variety of influences, from the established artistry of choreographer George Balanchine and writer Gertrude Stein to the surrealistic perceptions of his deaf-mute son and the precise, abstract communication of his autistic protégé and future collaborator Christopher Knowles, Wilson transcended language and pioneering performance forms.
